About

Kristin Hillery is the founder of Upper Stories. Her journey began at the University of Texas at Austin, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Texas Travesty, the nation’s largest college humor publication. Her early career experiences sharpened her commitment to making things that resonate and led her to co-found the digital agency Four Kitchens, where her passion for creating impactful experiences truly began to take shape.

From there, Kristin carved a unique path in both the tech and creative industries. As Chief Storyteller at InVision, she helped grow the company’s subscriber base from 500,000 to 2.5 million in just 18 months by delivering content that deeply resonated with audiences. Her journey continued to OpenView Ventures, where she worked closely with startup founders, and to leadership roles in brand and content at up-and-coming tech startups.

In the attractions industry, Kristin has found a community of creators who share her commitment to excellence and her belief in the transformative power of experiences. For her, designing immersive experiences is an art form akin to sculpture: each detail is crafted to captivate, ensuring that the experience resonates long after it ends.

Kristin’s dedication to creating things people love has also found expression outside of the traditional office. Her culinary ventures once earned her a runner-up award for Best Ice Cream in Austin from the Austin Chronicle. This same dedication has guided every phase of her career: from storytelling to strategy, she believes every interaction should feel authentic, impactful, and worth returning to.

With Upper Stories, Kristin’s vision is to combine her passion for storytelling with her expertise in brand and content marketing, creating experiences, brand activations, and digital journeys that clients and audiences alike will think about long after the moment has passed.
